Experiment with different classes and teachers until you find one that fits your pace, style, and needs. Make sure to work with a qualified prenatal yoga teacher—the pregnant body has different requirements and needs than those attending a generalized yoga class. Choose an experienced teacher that can keep you safe, offer pregnancy-focused poses, and maybe even give a meditation or two that could help you during labor.

Postnatal classes are yoga classes that you take after you have your baby. Talk to your primary health care provider to get clearance before you return to yoga class. Many postnatal classes allow you to bring your baby, and again they are a great place to meet other moms!
